NetHeads, I'm seriously considering starting the paint process soon. Since my plane is made up of a bunch of separate pieces, rather than one whole, I could theoretically paint it a little at a time. Of course all at once would be better, but I'm toying with painting the whole top one day, the bottom the next, and clearcoat the next, since the top will be one color and the bottom another. Wings can definitely come much later. Anyway, the reason for this post is that I bought the 43430 HVLP paint gun from Harbor Freight on sale for something like $50, so I'm looking for tips on HVLP use, and a refresher on painting, since it's been 15 years since I painted a car. Anyway, I stumbled across this site at http://www.thebugshop.org/bsfqpnt.htm and feel it's an excellent refresher course. And more importantly, he used this exact paint gun. Check it out and save it if you're going to paint your plane yourself. It's pretty good source of real information. Yes, I have several books on the subject too, but this is good stuff, and covers just about every aspect of painting...
