I plan to NOT use tha fuel pump so have decided to do away with the pump housing/flange/filter block. To run a remote filter and cooler should I tie in off of a milled piece on the rear housing or put in fittings ala Mark Langford at the cooler location? Or could a combination of oil leaving out of the new ly milled top plate and returning at the cooler location work? <<
You can do it either way. Mine has been changed so that oil exits at the top of the rear housing cover and re-enters the engine at the cooler adapter location. There just wasn't enough room to run them both out the cooler adapter the way mine was set up, which is why I took advantage of the flexplate adapter deal and got another one that's slightly longer (all of them are) so there'll be room on the next Vair engine...
