I have used West System epoxy on my KR-2 and several other projects with
excellent results. West System was specifically formulated for wood joining.
It works great for fiberglass layup also. Make sure your glass cloth is not
out of date. Most e-glass has a 5-year shelf life on the wetting agent.
Sanding goes good, but you have to let it fully cure or it can get gummy; three
days at 70 degrees F works fine for me. Most other epoxies work that way also.
The pump system works great for metering out just the right ratio for
production work. A pump set costs about $10. You can buy the WS epoxy from AS
and West Marine, same price except you pay shipping from AS or state sales tax
from West Marine.

OK, I am sure this has been batted around several times. I know this is
a opinion thing to...but I have used T-88 on several wood projects but has
anyone used the West Epoxy System or another epoxy with good results on wood,
foam and fiberglass? I am trying to narrow it down to using just one epoxy
system to do the whole airplane instead of T-88 for the wood and another system
for the foam fibreglass.
