Clear DayBoy was today a nerve racking day. To actually remove instead of install. But I want to use the new wing, and I agree with all the technical advice that the lower incidence will improve all flight characteristics. I've already been to my local blueprint shop and had 2 copies of the wing templates made. I'm going to make the templates and cutouts tomorrow and start positioning my rear spar in its new home. Then it's positioning, gluing and clamping like my life depended on it (it does!).
Just a quick update and some encouragement to those who have been thinking about removing the rear spar, but have been concerned about the task. It only took about 30 minutes per side to remove the fill blocks and to saw above and below the spar caps. No damage to the spar, and once I get everything aligned and leveled, I'll cut new spacer blocks to a tight fit and reglue it all back together. A very fulfilling day.
