I have about 2600 road miles on my KR & Trailer combination. First... move from Corvallis, Oregon to Chandler, AZ (1300 miles), then two years later, move back.
I have a Pace 8x16 tandem axle cargo trailer with a ramp door. I did this instead of a custom open trailer to keep the KR out of the Arizona sun, and so that I can resell the trailer to someone else at a later date. (Also, I happened to get a bonus that helped pay for it). I have three tie down rings on the trailer one in the rear, and two in the front. The KR has the retract gear and you can see a photo of the loaded/tied-down configuration at: http://www.n541ry.us/slide_shows.html (It's in the slide show presentation) The only problems I have are during the loading and un-loading of the KR. The wing attach fittings barely clear the trailer door, and for 1 person loading it's kind of dicey. The trailer was originally purchased as a mobile hangar, as hangar space in Chandler had a 6 year waiting list, and I wanted to keep the KR out of the sun. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably wait and get a 20' trailer, so I'd have room for a workbench, and be able to put the wings in on their wing dolly in front of the KR. As it is, the wings go underneath. The tandem wheels give the trailer a real good ride. With my crew cab pickup, the loaded trailer is not even noticed, but --Ross -- ___________________________________________________ Check out the latest SMS services @ http://www.operamail.com, which allows you to send SMS through your mailbox.
