Two things. If you move your battery to the tail you can make battery cables using what I've heard called "welding cable". I bought mine at the local hardware store. It's basiclly the same cable use on electric welders. It makes great battery cable. I seem to recall it was #2 cable but I'm not sure. You will be able to tell by looking if it's the right size. Second thing. If you mount the battery ANYWHERE behind the seat you will want to make sure it is EXTREEMLY well anchored. I'd even suggest you secure a cable to the battery box and anchor it to the tailwheel mount hardware. In case of an accident you don't want a 20 to 25 pound projectile streaking through the cockpit enroute to it's final resting place. I'm hoping to get my prop back this week and be flying again by this time next week. I stopped by the hangar yesterday on the way back from Mt.Vernon (getting started on Gathering planning) and found a large puddle of gas under the left wing attach point. All indications are it is a fitting leaking and not a problem with the tank. I'll have to pull the left wing and re-do the fitting but if that's all it turns out to be I should have the problem corrected in two hours or so. Keep your fingers crossed.
