I am still going to install on a temporary basis, the red string lighting
under my glareshield. Brian also has those post lights listed with Aircraft
Spruce. I just got in two small cockpit lights that I will permanently
install as they have a great history of success.

You can look at them at:
http://www.vansaircraft.com/cgi-bin/catalog.cgi?ident=1074946723-504-495&browse=lighting&product=eyeball

They weight a total of 1/2 oz. each, are only 1/2" high with a flange of
1.5". The bulb has an expected life of 1500 hours. The ball is moveable
with a 45 degree beam width and a 100 degree sweep in all directions. With
a life of 1500 hours, some people don't even switch them so they are on all
the time. They draw 1.12 watts at 14 volts. May want to give a looksee as
they only cost $12.50 per light. Two would light up a KR panel nicely.
