Guys;
From the net traffic it sounds like a lot of work is being done
now by many people. Dan, your plane is really looking good. On the smooth
prime issue I had decided after my first try with it that thinning was
the way to go and after thinning I only put on two coats an then sanded
with 120 grit to level the surface up and then two more thinned coats.
My progress this weekend was to assemble the red and green LED
marker light kits from killacycle. My total lack of experience did not
stop me. Once I had made a few practice solder joints on the practice kit
that is supplied with the kit I was good to go and five hours latter I
had a functioning set of marker lights. I ordered a couple clear canopies
from Hobby Town USA that by the web site look like they will get close to
fitting my wing tip shape. I'll let you know how that works out.
Sunday was spent on aileron balancing. Both ailerons have the
balancing weight mounted and left a little heavy for paint. The total
weight of each aileron before paint is just under 5#. This makes my outer
wing panels before paint at 46#
