Mark & Mark,
I have a Facet pump sold under the trade name of Purolator and it is up front
on my fender of my Camaro. It feeds the carb for my 3.4V6 and does a great job,
and has for 4 years. This one is solid state controlled, I believe the same as
the one we all bought for our planes. If so the clicking buzzing stops when
the pumps actually shuts off when line pressure reaches the pre-determined
amount inside the pump. When driving down the highway, I can feel its
vibration in my foot, but cannot hear it. But around town it comes on and off
as necessary to maintain line pressure.

Dan one word of caution: make sure that when you make the flares that you are
making double flares, not single. Some of the less expensive flaring tools
will only make a single flare, you want one that grabs the end lip, and folds
it over as its flaring in order to reinforce the line end, called double
flaring. Otherwise the end will have a tendency to split when mounted pressure
is applied by the seat. I found this one out the hard way when building the
dragster, and kept finding pesky leaks at the joints. To see what I mean, go
to the nearest auto parts store and look in the end of the pre-made fuel/brake
lines and you will see the double flaring. You may want to consider using
these as they are in-expensive, and already have the flared ends, in varying
lengths from 1 foot to 6 feet. Then just use a GOOD bending tool that has a
good radius for the bends so it doesn't kink. A small conduit bender works
good. Just some thoughts...
