Russ,

I guess I'm lucky to be a member of EAA 974 (and a neighbor to EAA 174),
even if not perfect. On the rare occasion when I have to ask for help, I
get it. The reason my requests are rare is because I usually get help
before I have to ask, from a Technical Advisor or another member. If I were
a member of a local EAA chapter and the Technical Advisor repeatedly
wouldn't help me, I'd be pretty irritated. In fact, I'd probably stop
helping them, eventually. I would think the national EAA would be
interested to know which chapters you belong to that won't provide any
advice or help, as well as which Technical Advisors won't advise or help.
This is incredible to me. My chapter supports local events, Young Eagles,
each other, and more. We help and are helped by members of other local
chapters.

BTW, the FAA primarily does a paperwork inspection. One of those pieces of
paper is one you sign that says you've taken care of all those little things
as well as all those big things and the ones in between. When it comes to
an airplane, I don't want to get anything by the FAA. (And if you're going
to be flying over SW Ohio, I hope you don't either.) :-)

Good luck on finding a helpful EAA Chapter to join.

Ken Jones
Member EAA Chapter 974.
