I don't know if it was an issue or not, but certainly having card carrying formation trained pilots would make it a lot easier to get them to accept a KR formation. I know that a lot of the other RV and other formations are by experienced teams.
Now don't slam me. I have no idea if that was a consideration at all and I certainly believe that the KR deserves its fair time in the spotlight.
