Well, I tried one more thing, and it worked! I wrapped the "connection" in aluminum foil and grounded it, in an effort to shield it from EMI, and now it's accurate from idle to top RPM. I'll replace the foil with a nice copper braid and run a wire to ground, so I guess I'm finally happy with it. I always wondered why people had trouble with something as simple as a tach, and now I know. I learned a lot about my engine today, running it filtered, unfiltered, cowled, and uncowled, and taking photos of the EGT, CHT, MAP, and other readings from the EIS.. The most important achievement was getting the manifold pressure sensor working. I have a .9" MAP loss at wide open throttle, which ain't half bad. I wouldn't hesitate to fly behind this engine right now... Mark Langford, Huntsville, Alabama N56ML "at" hiwaay.net see KR2S project at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford
