The problem with most ground adjustable props is that the twist on the blade
remains the same, and the entire blade is twisted to adjust the pitch. That
makes them less efficient than a properly done fixed pitch prop, so the two
are somewhat of an apple and orange affair when it comes to comparisons.
Plus, they tend to be more massive than the VW can stand (according to
GPASC), and $550 wouldn't buy one anyway.

People occasionally volunteer to do things on KRnet, but rarely do they
follow up with action. I feel sure Mark will take this thing and make it
happen. I'm just too selfish with my time to do it right now.

We might think about collecting prop bolts and crush plates too, as they
tend to be expensive just to try a prop of a different thickness. I don't
think it would be out of the question to charge thirty to fifty bucks or so
for the privilege of borrowing a prop, just to keep the fund financed, and
maybe to offer as an incentive for people to turn their props over to total
strangers. There are still details to work out, and I'm sure Mark will
handle it well.
