I also have a TypeIV with a turbo and a manual waste gate. The condition
that I designed the engine controls for was a go-around on short final. I
built a Throttle quadrant that has throttle, waste gate, mixture and cowl
flaps all together in my left hand. The stick is in my right hand. In an
emergency full power situation I simply shove all four levers full forward.
This give full throttle, open waste gate, mixture full rich, and cowl flaps
open. To go to "war emergency power" I pull back on the waste gate
control. Operationally, I know that the throttle is full open, mixture is
full rich, and cowl flaps are full open before I begin to add boost. In
addition, when you are close to the ground you most likely don't need boost
so in one motion of left hand forward you are very close to full power so
that you can concentrate on flying the airplane and not worrying about
engine control settings.

All of the commercially available throttle quadrants were too expensive for
what you get so I just built one up out of 6061 Al. I bent up two "L"
shaped pieces of Al that form top-right and bottom-left sides. The
bottom-left piece is mounted to the left sidewall and has the pivot (an3
bolt) and the levers (fashioned from 1/8" Al). The top-right piece has
slots in the top for the levers and mounting holes on the right side. A
wing nut on the pivot bolt outside of the right side allows for adjusting
the tension on the pivot to prevent creep of the controls. You might want
to reconsider having your waste gate control conflicting with your flying
hand. You can fly the airplane without power but I would not recommend
powering the airplane without flying! Your KR has flown and mine has not
yet, so consider the source of this recommendation.
