I don't know which book you are referring to, but that doesn't apply to when
you put fiberglass on top of foam.  In that case, you NEED to squeegee a
runny slurry mixture of epoxy and micro into the pores of the foam to avoid
putting pure epoxy in there.  The micro helps lighten the mixture
considerably, probably by about 3/4.  The tensile strength of foam is so low
that the micro/epoxy slurry is still way stronger, so it's not a problem in
this case, but a benefit.  The case where you DON'T want micro under the
fiberglass is over the spars or some other structural location where the
connection between the structural member and the glass is critical.  Page 8
of my 1990 KR-2 manual details the use of "micro slurry" over foam, and
there is mention of the critical spar connections on page 50, as well as
other places.  If you put fiberglass over foam without first squeegeeing in
SOMETHING, the fiberglass will not stay attached to the foam for long...
