I have done all my canopy cutting with a 3" steel saw blade on a modified arbor on my drill. I have found that the smoother the edges of a cutting wheel is, the more heat builds up, which can cause problems. If there is an area that you are going to discard, just try a few cuts and see which one you like the most. I strongly suggest another pair of hands to keep everything in place until you get through the entire cut. I think I would prefer the one with teeth and keep the blade cutting at the outside edge of the blade. Don't let the blade sink too deeply into the material.
What kind of canopy did you decide on? There is a time for building and a time for FLYING and the time for building has expired. See N64KR at http://KR-Builder.org - Then click on the pics Daniel R. Heath - Columbia, SC See you in Mt. Vernon - 2005 - KR Gathering
