They actually pull fuel fine, it is just that they don't do as good a job of
sucking the air out of the line until they get primed.  A foot or so does
fine, but any higher than that and they start to have trouble.

That answered one of the big questions I had about where the best place to
locate the pumps would be.I guess they push fuel better then they pull fuel.
