I have decided to not build the KR project that I've had for over 10 years. I have Diehl Wink Skins that cost $1800, and a 1600 engine from a KR2 with low hours in the air, engine mount, spinner, accessory case, mag, carb, exhaust etc... for sale if anyone is interested and can pay a fair price.
I wish i had the skill and/or patience to complete it but I have to admit that I don't. Given the chance, I would buy a completed KR1 or similar and probably will. Also, I am REALLY HAPPY that this KR Society seems to be coming together better than ever on the web. The fact that someone has all the newsletters available on DVD is just incredible! I bought my first KR kit in 1987, sold it a year later to buy a Grumman AA1B, which was a cool plane but slower and more of va gas hog than any KR, sold that, and started to buy the stuff to build the next KR. Bill Reents was a great inspiration and I spoke to him many times back then. Chris
