I guess that, more than anything, I was trying to figure out how Rand and 
Robinson arrived at their published CG range and the little exercise with 
the CAA rule of thumb seemed to point in the direction of an "aerial 
extraction".  However, I could be wrong... they may have done some 
engineering and arrived at that range analytically, then verified it by test 
flying.

I don't even have a KR... all I have is a manual and supplement, so I'm just 
throwing ideas around.
