Painters out there??? I heard that Primer is NOT waterproof?

Primer is just that, primer. It is like a sponge and will absorb 
anything it comes in contact with, not just water. Oil and fuel come to 
mind here and I think you will all agree that getting paint to stick to 
that combination is asking for trouble.
