I am making bent spars for my KRs. I took the stock spar and ripped it on my table spar to 7/16 sections, then planed them and joined them so they would be 3/8" and smooth.
I had to buy more spar stock than came with the kit. In the end if I were to do it again, I would modify the wood kit order so that I would have ordered 16 1/4"- 2 3/4" spar caps and saved myself all of the work of shaping. It was a pain doing it this way and has taken along time. Spend a little more money and save the headache. Ron Smith, Kr2s boat stage,
