Another reason you guys in the States should get on the Government's
arse regarding their lopsided trade agreements. They think nothing about
letting offshore individuals buy up American Corporations but timber is =
a
whole different matter. Not to sound too political here guys but I have =
a
brother in Florida trying to get his hands on Canadian spruce and fir to
repair and build houses that can withstand today's hurricane codes and =
they
can't get it as the Government says it's a no-no. Go figure, the =
contractors
have all stated that Canadian softwoods are the only thing they can use =
due
to it's inherent strength and low cost but those powerful lobbyists in
Washington seem to be paying off the right people.
As for me, since I'm in the middle of relocating from Canada to
southern Georgia, I'll be bring enough spruce and fir with me to build
several KR's. The cost difference between it and sitka will just about =
cover
the cost of my avionics.

canadian pines will vary greatly from the 22 to the 33.
You can see that the biggest bang for your buck is the spruce, with =

running second. Hey, anything goes!
