Brian,
I had two tech advisors working with me. The first one told me that if I
wanted him to actually fill out and sign my builders log, I would have to
pay him. Otherwise, he said I could write up a report in my builders log and
sign it myself. He did send in the required report to the EAA which is part
of his Tech Counselor volunteer duties. When the second Tech Counselor
started visiting, I told him that I would like to pay him for his time and
he said "nothing doing that a Tech Counselor is a volunteer for the EAA and
ethically can not accept payment from a builder". He did say to have the
coffee pot going!!!. He also signed my builder log with his report and sent
in the forms to the EAA.
