You could build a sheild.
Im not building a plane but could'nt you use inswool in between
the shield or just rap your fuel lines with it. It's good for 2300 Deg.
It comes in different thicknesses 1 and 2 inch matt and is the material that
they uses for gas forges and melting pots for steel . It is light weight and
is sorta like fiberglass insulation and would possibly be good for a
sandwich layer around the fusalage area and firewall since it would take a
lot of heat to get it past 2300 deg. Wear a resperator when fooling with
the stuff as it gets in the air and into your lungs.
