Hmmm... speaking of monokote and things, I wonder if Poly-Tak will stick to fiberglass? You could get regular fabric finishing tapes, Poly-Tak them down over the wing gap, heat shrink, Poly-Brush, and paint just like a fabric covered airplane. The gap seals wouldn't be removable like a metal or fiberglass strip, but would be easier to repair and replace than glass and foam, certainly would follow the wing contours, and the materials are all readily available. There would not be any gaps for rain or wash water to get into, either.
