My brother in his teenage years used to work for a company that had him removing the "made in China" label and install a "made in USA" label. It happens. China and Taiwan things are still cheaply made, but things from Japan are very good. The bearing supplier that we deal with daily at work says they have very good luck with Japanese bearings.
