My personal opinion is to pull the motor down and check it, cheap insurance.

My reason: I bought a KR2 with less than 10 hours on it. Due to poor storage
(not inhibited correctly) the crank got rust on it, when started the rust went
through the bearings and seals stuffing them, the barrels and pistons. Cost me
a new engine. (and I paid new price for the stuffed engine, we live and we
learn :-) Luckily I never got off the ground with it.

  Subject: KR> new KR owner

I just bought a KR2 that was built in 1980? and has flown less than
250 hrs.It has the original Revmaster 2100D with [you guessed it] less than 250
hrs TT. I'm not worried about the engine too much since I live close to the RM
factory in Hesperia, Ca. What I'd like to know is if there are any KR
owner/builders in my area [Palm Springs,Ca]....Fred
