INSIDE the ram air inlet, maybe. Sun shining on it isn't going to affect accuracy while flying (convection will be much greater than the radiation), and "wind" blowing on it will just make it more accurate. My under cowling temps are something like 75 degrees higher than outside air. You probably want "real" outside air for this job, so either put it on the outside of the cowling, or in the ram air tube or cooling inlet, or out in the stub wing, or even just sticking out of the fuselage (but the engine might affect it some there).
