The initial finding is that it is not the pistons, but I won't know for sure until tomorrow as I did not actually try to remove either of the cylinders. I just loosened the heads so they moved and figured that if it was the pistons, the cylinders would move as I tried to turn the prop, and it is still stuck solid. The engine has been taken down to the bare engine so I can begin removing the heads and cylinders tomorrow, if that is what I decide to do. I was not able to contact the local VW expert as they were closed today. I also want to consult with Steve, but think that I need to get into the engine so I have some information for him. I checked the oil again today, and it was barely off the full mark.
