A sheet of 4' X 8' X 2" costs me around AU$100. I never use a solid block, I use bits of foam glues together with a micro slurry to build a ruff shape and then sand. Be carefull not to get micro slurry in joints where you have to sand!!!!!!!!!!!! regards Barry Kruyssen Cairns, Australia RAA 19-3873 [email protected] http://www.users.bigpond.com/kr2/kr2.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: Chris Johnston To: KRnet Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2006 10:40 PM Subject: KR> foam and resin A question for Australians, can anyone tell me where I can get some foam from, I have tried about 6 companies locally in Sydney but they all charge something like $1000 for a block of foam about 4 ft by 2 ft by 1 ft, and if any one can advise on a good resin for glassing and where I can get it then that would help too, there are so many differret brands available I would much prefer to use something that is known to work, rather than something that the fibreglass salesman thinks will work. _______________________________________ Search the KRnet Archives at http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/index.jsp to UNsubscribe from KRnet, send a message to [email protected] please see other KRnet info at http://www.krnet.org/info.html
