Kevlar is easy to cut as long as you use the right tools. Ceramic shears aren't cheap, but they work. Just don't try to sand it. It won't happen. Just turns into yellow fuzz that's next to impossible to get rid of. I just put a layer of glass over it, bag it with peel ply, and leave it alone until it's primed.
