My KR has no flaps, just a speed brake (belly board). If I had both, I'd have them work independently or have the brake go down after the flaps were fully extended with a single mechanism. There may be occasions where you might want a bit of flap, such as in rough or soft field take off without the brake coming in to play. There really is no reason you can't make them work any way you want. The KR lands slowly enough that I really don't think you need both. Larry flesner
