Well, I have finally given up on any hope of fixing the problems with this engine without taking it off and tearing it down. So, I spent most of the day, removing it and bringing it back to the home shop. I have found a local expert who is willing to look at it. I will take it down to the short block and then he will take down the rest and build it back. There are no guarantees, but I have never had an engine that leaks like this one, and I have had a few VW engines in my past. I also believe that the intake valves are not seating properly, so will have that corrected also.
My hope is that by taking it down, identifying and correcting any problems, and putting it back together properly, the problem will be corrected and I can get on with what this whole thing is all about.....
