I've never seen one stuck before that a little cajoling with a gasket scraper wouldn't loosen up. Yours are apparently glued on with something, so I'd ask the clown that glued them on what it takes to get them off. Or like you said, get some new ones headed your way. Your local aftermarket VW guy probably has them on the shelf, and that would help ensure no oil leaks from deformed barrel shims. It's worth a few bucks to stop an oil leak any day...
