Chris,

If you intend to cover the wood with anything at all, I'd suggest you
use the 1.3 or 1.4 ounce glass called "Deck cloth" in the Wick's
catalog.  If the wood is well prepped the addition of the "Deck cloth"
will have you ready for priming.  My entire KR, fuselage , tail, and
wings, were finished with the deck cloth to save a lot of fill and
sanding.
