Good and bad news
Remember I bought the plane in New Castle about two months ago. It is now
called Shreg. The colour is Lamborghini green. I changed a few things and
reduced the weight by 6kg. The c of g is on the front limit with me in only
and empty tank.
I could not wait any longer to taxi and fly the little beauty. I did about
four runs up and down the runway today with the rail up and all went well in
the 10knt wind 20 gegrees cross. The rudder is very effective and I find it
easier to keep straight than the Kitfox or Bushbaby. So it was actually very
easy. Then the moment came that I decided to do the fist full power takeoff
start with throttle full open and the tail up quickly. The tail lifted after
only a few metres and then it was like a gust of wind just pushed the tail
up and I had a prop strike. My 1st prop strike in 24 years. Well during
landing with power off and no brakes it is not easy to get a prop strike,
even if you check foreword quit far during a wheeler. Now I learned a very
expensive lesson. The same rule does not apply for power on and low ground
speed
Anybody knows where I can get a prop for the 80hp Limbach fast I still
want to attend the Volksrust Fly-inn
