Don't mean to sound rude but that's a little to simple of an answer because
of the variety of powerplants in the list as well as some incomplete data. A
better representation might be to look at the four major powerplants even
though they all have different power outputs within their groups. For
Example:

VW powered KR's average 69 hp, weigh 633 lbs have a Vmax of 148 mph and
Vstall of 51 mph

The Continentals average 95 hp, weigh 689 lbs have a Vmax of 174 mph and
Vstall of 56 mph

The Corvairs average 112 hp, weigh 749 lbs have a Vmax of 162 mph and Vstall
of 56 mph

The Jabiru (only looked at Barry's as Rich's did not have a weight listed)
has 85 hp, weight 556 lbs and has a Vmax of 150mph and Vstall of 49 mph

So depending on what engine you choose to use you now have a yardstick to
measure you efforts against or to base your expectations.

And to answer Dan's original question - nobody is matching the published KR
numbers.

Remember these are averages and the data is "as reported" with no effort to
verify the numbers.

F.Y.I. - copy and paste the data off of Mark's website and paste into
Excel - you can then sort and run any scenario you want.
