I think I've answered my own question on this one. It's called a Qstarz BT-Q815. Not widely available yet but as fast as this technology is going I'm sure it won't be long.
Very small, no magnetic base, small solar panel built into the top assisting the battery in giving 30 hrs. continuous 32-channel reception. Rebranders other than Qstarz will be coming out with them too. They're made by F-tech in Taiwan. I want one. I'll use my Lowrance 600C with its 16-channel chip and daylight unreadable screen in the meantime. Mike
