I don't ever recall anyone having problems bending the sides. Is the
problem, just because it is to be made wider? You know, this may explain
why the widest part of the KR, is too far forward to do much good, closer to
the firewall. Moving that bend aft will increase the stress on the wood.
If you want to make the fuse wider, then maybe, you need to make the
firewall wider also. I have been fortunate in my KR building career, to
never have had to deal with those issues as I have started with a stalled
project on both occasions where the fuse was already finished.

Having built two KR2s, I certainly agree, that they are a bit too narrow at
the shoulders and I am only 5'8", 185#, but I really don't see what the
banana" issue is. I think it looks better that way, and certainly does not
cause any problems with building the plane. One thing that I can tell you,
from experience. Flying them, even, built to plans, beats the crap out of
building them.

Remember, anything that you change will cause a chain reaction of more
changes. If you want an airplane, build one, if you want a hobby, invent
one.

I'm having some difficulty joining the sides of the fuselage together. I
originally wanted to go a few inches wider, but could barely get the fuse to
bend to begin with, so I'm back to plan width (sucks, but it'll have to do).

Now, when I bend, it bananas (as expected, but in doing so, it pulls out of
the bottom (top really) jig assembly before I can bend the top (bottom
really) together enough to put the crossmembers in place.

If I make the guide blocks taller, it would solve the problem, but create an
irregular shaped bend. Suggestions?

Forgot to say, if you don't widen it you will probably regret it.
