What weight oil are you using , for example 5w20 or 10w30 etc. ? Is your system voltage holding steady or falling as you run the engine for a while ?. A drop in voltage will affect your gauge reading.
If you suspect a faulty gauge or sender you can check their compatibility and function by connecting the sender to an air pressure source with a good gauge and vary the pressure. The oil pressure gauge should read the pressure fairly accurately throughout it's range.
