Oh! How sweet it is!
I am very pleased to see your Corvair running so fine. You had me worried for
a while, as the Corvair is my choice as well. Good flyin to you!

Yep, that's right....right on the spinner!!! I took N886MJ up for a flight
this
evening at 7:00 pm. It was calm with a temp of 70°. I climbed out to 3500' just
below the clouds and opened her up. This was the second flight since my rebuild
and I was more than pleased with the performance. Level at 3500' and WOT
produced 3350RPM with a GPS verified true airspeed of 151MPH. I have not seen
my
engine produce a smooth 3350 rpm since I first built her. It may have taken me
two years to get all the bugs worked out but I feel confident she is ready to
perform for me now. I honestly feel as I get a few more hours on this rebuild
that the rpm will probably creep up some more as well as the speed. I can't
wait
to get my wheel pants on the main gear and see what she will do then. Anyway,
tonight's flight speed was not too shabby for an oversized heavy KR-2S with no
main wheel pants. Now you know why I kissed her goodnight.
