Big thang would be Cast vs Forged Cranks. in the 80's gave a buddy a 1600cc VW w/ cast crank told him to swap it out to forged before he flew.....Never did, pressed on a hub went flying, get this 400hrs.

A bit of research and study will bring out the details. The reason he "doesn't do aircraft" is primarily for liability reasons. Also, he may not be knowledgeable of the changes necessary to convert to aircraft use.
