Hi John, If you have the space and resources to make the shop a little larger I would do it. Think about trying to work on your plane with the door closed in bad weather ? The original KR2 has a length of 14'6" and that doesn't leave much space to get around the front or back of the aircraft in a 16' shop and with a wingspan of 20'8" your 20 foot width won't allow you mount the wings or wing spars for construction inside the shop so every time you want to work on it you will have to pull it out mount the wings then take the wings and put it all away and only in good weather. If I were building new construction and had the space and resources I would build my shop to be at least 25 foot wide and 20 foot in length, remember that you need space for the door frame also, and that way I wouldn't have to crawal under the wings every time I want to get from front to back of the shop. Actually I ended up using a adjustable ladder placed over the wings to get from the front to the rear of the shop but its a little unstable espically when your hands are full of parts and tools.
