I don't know about the gel-cel type but don't throw away a dead lead / acid battery too soon. I had the main battery go completely dead when I mistakenly left the master switch on following an annual. It took 45 hours according to my electric hour meter to totally kill the battery. I thought that was it for that battery but it did come back after a 48 hour slow controlled charge and is working fine to this day. Larry Flesner
