To my Fellow KR builders.
Just to let everybody know: the young eagles program at EAA479
attracted over 35 children/teens and a few parents got rides too. We had
9 pilots show up with their planes, and two were experimentals; a
Bearhawk and an RV-8, both flying excellently. I was the traffic safety
officer for the day and had the pleasure of coordinating the planes;
sending the kids from the FBO taxiway down the runway as well as
receiving them back with a smile and a salute. It was a great time for
one and all, and I got a chance to improve my radio skills in an
uncontrolled airspace. If you don't involve yourself in flying kids for
the program, take on SOME task and do it with fervor. This program is
good for the soul of all involved!
