I'm assuming your use of the term "deck cloth" means the very light weight glass, 1.2 or 1.4 oz weight. When using that as a top or finish coat over the glass, don't mess it up by using anything over it like peel ply. The deck cloth is your finish and will save you a lot of fill and sanding. My entire KR is covered in "deck cloth", even on the wood fuselage as a sealer. Apply the deck cloth while the KR cloth or CF are still wet and it will soak up 50% or more of the resin it needs from the underlying glass layer. Just drape it over the lay up, carefully pull out the wrinkles, and dry brush it on. Add whatever small amount of resin needed after that with a brush being careful not to add too much resin. If the surface shines, it is too resin rich so you keep dry brushing it out to another area. It won't take long to learn the technique. Larry Flesner
