Lee, I think you should be able to bond the hinge in place with structural adhesive such as Hisol or the one made by PTM&W.

I have located a few web sites that show how to attach the hinge with rivets, but I have a clear coat carbon fiber top cowl that I don't want to see rivets on. I think I can just glass in the hinge if I put large enough holes in.
