Something that amazes me from time to time is how widely read the forum is. People from all over the world will suddenly pop up with questions or information about their part of the woods and what they're doing. Re fuel tanks - thank goodness my main tank is aluminum. I put car gas in it sometimes but I think I'm going to stop doing that. I had a supposedly fuel proof T-fitting dissolve over time - probably from ethanol. And who knows what it might be doing to diaphragms & other fittings inside the Ellison? All gas in California has ethanol these days. This turning corn into gas idea was just welfare for corporations that run the farms these days. It's hardly cost effective when it takes two gallons of petroleum products in the form of fertilizers & machinery fuel in order to produce one gallon of this corn crap that dissolves composite fuel tanks and fittings. My aux tank in the wing is composite and I have never put anything in it but avgas. I think from now on I'm going to stick with avgas completely. The engine runs better on it anyway. More power. In some parts of the country I think you can still get mogas without ethanol, but not in California.
