earlier in this thread someone addressed stripping threads and using a tap. As a builder new to KRs, I?ve not come across many of the problems you folks have already solved, and I appreciate your collective skill and creativity with the composites. Some rivet nuts will get out of round during the manufacturing process. I?ve been told that is intentional to insure snugness, but it can damage a lower grade screw. To minimize thread stripping, use grade 8 hardware. If they?re still too tight, use a drill motor to run a tap through the nuts (before you install them) to insure they?re round. I use BOELUBE on all screw threads, but I?m sure other paraffin based lubricants will work too. Exercise care and diligence (duh?). Dan
