Good mourning guys, I was hit in the face with a harsh reality about my landings yesterday. A friend and I flew to Moontown for their fly in breakfast , which was great by the way but that's a whole other discussion. After landing at Moontown in my 150 and doing what I thought was a fantastic landing. My friend ,who has flown several short coupled airplanes (Quickie, Thorp T18 etc.) made the observation that unless I changed the way that I landed that I would have severe P.I.O.(PILOT INDUCED OSCILLATION.) on the maiden flight of my KR. While I can get away with massive control movements in the 150, The KR will not stand for that. I can keep up with the 150 with big movements but as my friend pointed out,I would be behind the KR and could find myself in a bad situation. After a lot of discussion on the way back home (Talladega,ASN), I tried a different method of landing. Just tried to set the angle and let the plane land on its on. There was a lot less control movement this way. I had just gotten complacent and the 150 lands so easily that I was just not aware how wrong my landings had been. As my friend said, We have to let the plane do what it's designed to do instead of man handling it. I will try to pay more attention to my landings as I get closer to flying my own KR. See you guys at the Gathering. Mike Sylvester kr2s builder Birmingham,AL.
